Editor's Note

"An attempt to render the wooden architecture of Kinkakuji with its upper stories dressed in gold plating that gets ever so radiant as mirrored in the shimmering pond."

Behind The Creation

Golden Pavilion · Kinkaku

Named after Kinkakuji, a majestic temple situated in the north of Kyoto overlooking the Kyoko-chi pond, the scent introduces an almost metallic glow reanimated by the sharp notes of aromatic Spices on a sturdy Sandalwood structure and dampness of Patchouli. As encountered in other Daily Incense creations of Shoyeido, Cinnamon is cleverly utilised to set a mellow golden hue over the bigger picture, inducing a nostalgic charm.
