"Nuanced and unexpected, in a good way, Agarwood Supreme offers a new way to examine the olfactory profile of Agarwood."

Behind The Creation

Agarwood Supreme

Agarwood, known as “Jinko” in Japanese, is a precious aromatic material derived from the Aquilaria species in Southeast Asia. Often referred to as "liquid gold”, Agarwood holds a special place in both fine perfumery and traditional incense. In a delightful departure from convention, Kousaido’s Agarwood Gokuhin explores an alternative approach of blending complementary ingredients that bring out the multifaceted nature of this precious wood, rather than making it an Agarwood-forward formulation. The incense sticks are hand cut in small batches and housed in a Paulownia box which enhances their natural fragrance over time.
